For thousands of years, Sat Nam Rasayan was a secret yoga tradition, passed on exclusively in silence by a master to his disciple, a privilege reserved for only a few very advanced disciples. The process of training usually lasted several years, during which the master formed his disciple with various methods until he could remain stable in a state of neutrality and silence. The practitioners of this art were regarded as outstanding healers and the teachings as one of the highest achievements of yoga.<\/p>\n

Guru Dev Singh Ph.D.<\/span><\/strong>, the living master of this tradition, was trained by Yogi Bhajan, the master of Kundalini Yoga (and known to many people for his Yogi Tea), in the traditional way in Sat Nam Rasayan. In 1989 he came to Europe and began to teach Sat Nam Rasayan openly in accordance with the wishes of his teacher. The University of Colombo awarded him an honorary doctorate for his achievements in complementary medicine.<\/p>\n Yogi Bhajan was convinced that at a time of great change the world would need a strong group of healers. He wanted to make the knowledge of the ancient yogis accessible to all people.<\/p>\n Kundalini Yoga and Sat Nam Rasayan are almost indivisible in the teachings of Yogi Bhajan. Yogiji used Sat Nam Rasayan to know exactly where his students were at that moment and how he could best help them. In the last years of his life he followed the development of the Sat Nam Rasayan school with special attention.
