That’s why yoga is so valuable to children
What we experience in our childhood shapes us and has a decisive influence on how happy and successful we go through life as adults. The more children grow up in an environment that promotes their natural strength, health and courage, the more positive and creative the child’s future can unfold. Introducing children to yoga means giving them effective tools to lead a healthy and happy life. Yoga is an excellent playing field for children, where they learn to become friends with their bodies, to better perceive, understand and use their emotions and intellect. Positive effects:

  • Strengthening the body and developing a better understanding of it
  • Increasing the ability to perceive and focus
  • Developing self-confidence and self-esteem
  • Promoting relaxation, balance and harmony
  • Developing creativity and imagination
  • Supporting mindfulness in dealing with other children

Structure of the class
After tuning in, similar to the adults, we do yoga exercises in an age-appropriate way and often packaged in a playful way. Maybe your child already knows some exercises (asana) and breathing techniques (pranayama) from family yoga. If not, he/she will get to know them with the group. Yoga is fun and supports children in their development. A final relaxation and/or guided short meditation helps to integrate the lesson and to process the perhaps challenging school day. At the end of the class, we will tune out in order to give the class a clear framework.
